Pre Procedure Information

  • You should have received basic instructions from the office at least several days before the procedure.
  • If you still have specific questions regarding the procedure or your overall health issue, please call the office to have them answered by the office staff or a physician
  • If you are on a blood thinner, you will be given special instructions regarding when to stop taking it prior to the procedure. After the procedure, you will be told when to restart it.
  • You will be instructed to not eat or drink at least 8 hours prior to your procedure. Most often this will involving not eating after midnight.
  • You should plan to take all medications the morning of the procedure unless told otherwise.
  • Arrange to have a family member or friend to drive you to and from the hospital.
  • Bring a list of your medications and allergies to the procedure.
  • When you arrive, you should expect to have lab work, EKG, and basic workup performed prior to the procedure.
